Adele once again captivated audiences at her Las Vegas residency, Weekends with Adele, where she recently shared heartfelt moments with two legends: Meryl Streep and Céline Dion. On Friday, Nov. 1, Adele, dressed as Madeline Ashton from Death Becomes Her, paid homage to Streep’s iconic 1992 film character, and the Hollywood icon’s reaction delighted fans in attendance.
Adele’s heartfelt tribute:
As Adele made her way through the crowd at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, she spotted Streep, 75, and paused her performance of When We Were Young to greet the Oscar-winning actress. Adele, clad in a shimmering silver jacket, blonde wig, and large silver necklace reminiscent of Ashton’s look, curtsied to Streep, who reciprocated with a graceful bow. The two then shared a warm embrace, and Adele expressed her admiration, saying, “I love you” before continuing her song. The endearing exchange lit up social media as fans praised the unexpected moment, further enhancing Adele’s unique connection with her audience.
This touching encounter followed another emotional moment Adele shared with Céline Dion, who attended her show just a week prior on Saturday, Oct. 26. During that performance, Adele spotted Dion in the audience while singing the same song and became visibly emotional, shedding tears as she approached the My Heart Will Go On singer. The two shared a long embrace before Dion, 56, gently held Adele’s face and kissed her hand, a moment that deeply resonated with the British songstress.
Following Dion’s surprise appearance, Adele took to X (formerly Twitter) to share why the experience was especially meaningful, writing, “I have been performing in Céline Dion’s room at the Colosseum for almost 2 years now. It was the only venue I wanted to play in Vegas because it was built for her.” She added that a photo of Dion sits near the stage, which she touches each night before performing. “It was a MOMENT!!” Adele enthused, showing how deeply inspired she is by the legendary singer.
Dion later reciprocated the sentiment in an Instagram post, praising Adele’s show as “spectacular” and expressing gratitude for the shared night, calling it “such an emotional night for us all.”
Adele’s residency, filled with intimate performances and surprise guest appearances, continues to enchant fans and industry icons alike, blending her powerhouse vocals with her ability to connect meaningfully with the audience and fellow artists.
