The controversy surrounding It Ends With Us continues as actor Adam Mondschein disputes Blake Lively’s version of events during the filming of the contentious birth scene. Mondschein, who played the on-screen OB-GYN in the scene, has publicly refuted Lively’s claims in her lawsuit, which alleges uncomfortable and inappropriate conditions during filming.

Lively’s revised lawsuit from February 2025 paints a chaotic picture on set, with Lively claiming she was pushed into partial nudity and exposed in a vulnerable position without adequate privacy or coverage. According to the lawsuit, she had to repeatedly request coverage between takes while filming the intimate scene. Additionally, Lively’s lawyers raised concerns over the presence of non-essential crew members during the scene, highlighting the discomfort Lively felt during filming.

In contrast, Mondschein’s statement expressed surprise at Lively’s description of events, asserting that his experience on set was entirely professional. He insisted that the filming environment was respectful, with appropriate clothing and prosthetics used for the scene. Mondschein also took issue with the accusations regarding favoritism, defending his casting and qualifications, which he noted are easily verifiable.

Mondschein even addressed the insinuation that there was an inherent conflict of interest due to his close relationship with director Justin Baldoni, who reportedly insisted on casting his best friend for the sensitive scene. He dismissed these claims, saying that his involvement was based on his professional suitability for the role.

As the legal battle unfolds, Lively’s suit against Baldoni is slated for trial in March 2026, and Mondschein has made it clear he is prepared to testify and answer questions truthfully. This ongoing case brings attention to the broader concerns about the handling of intimate scenes in Hollywood, particularly around actor comfort and consent.

Do you think the trial will shed more light on the challenges of filming such sensitive scenes, or do you think the matter might get more complicated as it goes to court?
