Acer has unveiled an expansion of its Swift AI laptop line at IFA 2024, introducing new models powered by Intel’s Lunar Lake chips, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X Plus, and AMD’s Ryzen AI 300. These new laptops, promising significant advancements in battery life and performance, are set to be available later this month.
The updated Swift AI series features two distinct models: the Swift 14 AI and the Swift 14 Go AI. Both models are designed to provide over 24 hours of video playback and up to 17 hours of productivity, according to Acer’s claims. The Swift 14 AI, priced at $1,199, offers configurations with either Intel Core Ultra 5 or 7 processors or AMD Ryzen AI 9 365 chips. The Intel variant provides options for a 3K or 2K OLED display at 90Hz and up to 1TB of storage, while the AMD version features a 3K OLED screen and supports up to 2TB of storage. Both versions come with up to 32GB of RAM and include essential connectivity features like USB-C with Thunderbolt 4 for the Intel model and USB4 for the AMD variant.
In contrast, the Swift 14 Go AI, starting at $999, incorporates Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X Plus and offers a 14.5-inch display with a choice between 2560 x 1600 and 1920 x 1200 resolutions. While slightly less bright than its counterparts, the Swift Go model supports a 120Hz refresh rate and matches the connectivity options of the Swift 14 AI, including USB4, USB-A 3.2 ports, and a 1440p webcam with privacy features.
Acer is also introducing the Swift 16 AI, a larger 16-inch model exclusively powered by Intel’s Lunar Lake processors. This model, priced similarly to the 14-inch Swift AI at $1,200, features a 3K touchscreen OLED display and a 75Wh battery, although Acer has not specified its battery life. The Swift 16 AI includes dual USB-C Thunderbolt 4 ports, two USB-A ports, HDMI 2.1, and other connectivity options.
All new Swift AI models will be available in October 2024. Acer’s push to integrate the latest processors and extended battery life reflects the growing demand for high-performance, long-lasting laptops in a competitive market.
This release highlights Acer’s commitment to enhancing its laptop lineup with cutting-edge technology, promising users improved performance and efficiency across various computing needs.
