Aaron Taylor-Johnson has been widely rumoured to be the next James Bond, with many reports suggesting he’s close to officially landing the iconic role once led by Daniel Craig. However, just as excitement around his possible casting builds, an old controversy has resurfaced online, casting a shadow over his potential debut as 007.

The issue traces back to a 2012 incident involving Mexican actress Sandra Echeverría, who co-starred with Taylor-Johnson and Taylor Kitsch in the movie Savages. In a resurfaced post, Echeverría claimed that both actors behaved inappropriately during the filming of a kidnapping scene. She said that while she was tied up inside a truck for the scene, the two found it amusing to suddenly start the vehicle aggressively between takes, causing her to be thrown around inside.

Since her hands and feet were bound, she had no control over her movements, which left her hurt and upset. Echeverría recalled that her father, who was watching at the time, was furious about what happened. She said that later, at the film’s premiere, Taylor-Johnson apologised and appeared genuinely remorseful, while Kitsch showed little concern.

Her words—“Does that give you the power of Hollywood? I don’t know,” has now reignited discussion online about behaviour on film sets and the accountability of major stars.

This controversy arrives at a crucial moment for Taylor-Johnson, as many fans and insiders believe he is on the verge of being officially announced as the next James Bond. The speculation only grew stronger after Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn recently followed the actor on social media, fueling rumors of new high-profile projects in his future.

While the alleged incident is over a decade old and Taylor-Johnson did apologize, the renewed attention could complicate his image just as he seems poised to take on one of Hollywood’s most prestigious and scrutinized roles.
