Tony Dalton’s appearance in The Last of Us Season 2, Episode 6 has caught the attention of Marvel fans familiar with his MCU role as The Swordsman. In the show, Dalton plays Javier Miller, a local police officer and the violent father of Joel (Pedro Pascal) and Tommy (Gabriel Luna), featured in a gripping 1983 flashback sequence.

Showrunner Neil Druckmann revealed to Entertainment Weekly that Dalton was his first and favorite choice for the role. He praised Dalton’s work in Better Call Saul, calling him “the most charming, threatening man I’ve ever seen on television.” Dalton’s portrayal impressed Druckmann so much that he also cast him in Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, Naughty Dog’s upcoming original video game, where Druckmann serves as president and head of creative.
