The new update in 99 Nights in the Forest adds an exciting cave and a new Bat enemy. The cave is huge, almost like a never-ending mine, and it’s filled with tough enemies, powerful buffs, and new challenges. Here’s everything you need to know to explore it.

Finding the Cave
The main cave appears randomly in the forest on Day 1, usually not far from your campfire. On the map, look for a cave icon with a yellow exclamation mark—that’s the main entrance. There are three smaller caves too. They are scattered around the forest and can be unlocked once your campfire level is upgraded. You’ll need TNT from the main cave to blow open these smaller caves.

Preparing for the Cave
Before entering, you need some essential items:

  • A Strong Flashlight is best because it lasts longer and charges quickly.

  • Stew to avoid dying of hunger. Craft it at a Crock Pot.

  • Strong weapons like a Strong Axe, Chainsaw, Spear, or Shotgun. You’ll need powerful gear to fight tough enemies.

  • Bandages and a Med Kit to heal yourself and teammates.

  • Choosing strong classes can also make exploration easier.

Inside the Cave
When you enter, you’ll get a warning about the Bat. Its scream can deal serious damage, so take cover when it happens. You’ll first face new green-cloaked Cultists. They’re much stronger than the regular red ones. After defeating them, you’ll see giant crystals. These can be charged with your flashlight to light up the area and make exploring safer.

The Bat can also be found inside the cave. Be careful of its supersonic screams—they can hurt you badly if you’re not dodging.

Navigating the Cave
The cave can be confusing, but a separate map helps. Blue Crystal icons show charged crystals, Statue icons give blessings, and Cave icons mark exits. Keep your guard up because enemies respawn often. Some are very strong, especially new cultist variants with capes, huge axes, and lots of health. Always blast exits with TNT so you can return later.

Blessings from Statues
There’s no loot inside the cave, but four statues offer blessings that help your gameplay. Each statue gives one blessing, and you can only pick one per location. Here’s the list:

  • Ram I & II: Reduces lightning chances

  • Owl I & II: Reduces rain chances

  • Deer I & II: Increases day length, decreases night length

  • Bat I & II: Slows hunger rate

Exploring the cave is challenging but rewarding, especially with the right blessings and equipment.

Have you explored the new cave yet? Which blessing did you choose?
