Tron: Ares is gradually making its way toward $150 million at the global box office. While it seems unlikely to reach $200 million, the film is still managing to hit some smaller milestones, like surpassing the worldwide earnings of Ridley Scott’s House of Gucci, which starred Jared Leto.

In North America, the movie has collected $64.3 million so far. Its international earnings add another $60.3 million, bringing the worldwide total to about $124.6 million. Despite these numbers, the film has struggled to stay in the top ranks and won’t cross $100 million domestically, making its overall performance weaker than many mid-budget films released this year.

Even so, Tron: Ares continues to be in the top five of the daily North American box office charts. For a sci-fi movie with a digital world adventure and a big star like Jared Leto, this is still a notable achievement.

The movie follows Ares, a sentient program that escapes from the digital world into reality, threatening to reshape humanity’s future. Directed by Joachim Rønning and starring Jared Leto, it hit theaters on October 10, 2025.

When compared to House of Gucci, which earned $153.2 million worldwide, Tron: Ares is less than $30 million behind. Among 2025 releases, it has already outperformed films like Materialists, Karate Kid: Legends, and The Accountant 2.

Worldwide collection breakdown:

North America – $64.3 million
International – $60.3 million
Worldwide – $124.6 million

Even with a modest performance, Tron: Ares proves that sci-fi adventures with big ideas can still capture attention and make their mark, even if the journey to box office success is slower than expected.
