Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo has finally released Chapter 11. So far, we have learned the basics about the Simurians and their planet. There is still a lot we don’t know about them or their powers. But this chapter gave fans a surprising detail about Kalyan.
Kalyans are beasts from the Simurian planet. Until now, we only knew that they obey the Lumerian tribe and can be deadly, like when a Kalyan killed the daughter of Deskunta’s chief. Chapter 11 confirms that Kalyans are actually Cursed Spirits. This connects the Simurians directly to the same Cursed Spirits that human sorcerers fight on Earth. It changes the way we understand the Simurians and their relationship to humans.
The chapter starts on a lighter note. Humans and Simurians share a dinner together, cooking octopus. Dabra asks humans for a favor: he wants human sorcerers to lift the curse on his younger sister, which was placed by the Deskunta chief. Dabra also shows a crush on a human girl, which surprises everyone. The meeting ends happily, and Tsurugi asks Cross to explain more about their culture in the next exchange.
Things turn tense later. On the Simurian ship, Oski is asked to join the next cultural exchange, but he isn’t interested. Then he learns that Old Man Boro is in trouble. Boro is seen bleeding from the third eye, a dangerous sign for Simurians. He explains that he witnessed humans “butchering Kalyans.”
This confirms that the Cursed Spirits, which human sorcerers are killing, are the same as Kalyans. Since Kalyans are connected to the Lumerian tribe, this revelation could lead to conflict between humans and Simurians. However, Jujutsu Kaisen is known for twists, so the story may take an unexpected turn. Chapter 11 sets up a lot of tension and raises the stakes for what comes next.
