Mining is a huge part of Minecraft, but your tools wear out fast. A Blast Furnace lets you recycle old tools and smelt ores and metal items faster than a regular furnace. Here’s how to make and use one easily.
Materials Needed
To craft a Blast Furnace, you need:
-
1 Furnace
-
5 Iron Ingots (smelted from iron ore)
-
3 Smooth Stone Blocks (smelted from regular stone)
Crafting the Blast Furnace
-
Open a crafting table.
-
Place the furnace in the center slot.
-
Put the smooth stone blocks in the bottom row.
-
Fill the remaining upper and middle slots with iron ingots.
Now your Blast Furnace is ready to use.
Using the Blast Furnace
Place the Blast Furnace on the ground and right-click it to open the interface, which looks like a regular furnace.
-
Smelting Ores
-
Place fuel like wood or coal in the bottom slot.
-
Put iron or gold ores in the top slot.
-
Collect the smelted ingots from the right slot.
-
-
Smelting Tools and Armor
-
You can smelt iron, gold, or chainmail tools, weapons, and armor.
-
Each smelted item gives you one metal nugget. Combine 9 nuggets to make an ingot.
-
On Bedrock Edition, nuggets can also be used as fuel.
-
The Blast Furnace smelts items faster than a regular furnace but uses the same amount of fuel. It doesn’t cook food, so you’ll still need a regular furnace or campfire for that.
