Battlefield 6 has just received its mid-season update for Season 1, and it’s packed with new content, weapons, and quality-of-life improvements. The highlight of the update is Eastwood, a brand-new multiplayer map inspired by Southern California, which brings a fresh environment to the battlefield. Alongside the map, players get two new weapons, a limited-time mode, and several gameplay improvements.

Eastwood will feature variations for all official modes, including Conquest, where you can fight with tanks, helicopters, and even the fan-favorite Golf Cart. The update also adds a new limited-time mode called Sabotage, focused on demolition and objective-based gameplay, keeping the battles fast and intense.

Two new weapons join the arsenal: the DB-12 Shotgun and the M357 Trait Sidearm. Gauntlet mode also receives a new mission type called Rodeo, where players fight over multiple vehicles and earn bonus points for eliminating enemies while in a vehicle.

For those who enjoy building in Portal, the update adds a Sandbox map to give creators a level playing field for their experiences. The Golf Cart is now available in Portal too. Later in the update, Battle Pickups will be introduced. These are powerful weapons with limited ammo, designed to turn the tide of combat in both standard modes and custom experiences.

The Battle Pass also gets a refresh with the California Resistance bonus path, available for a limited time, and players can unlock a new underbarrel attachment, the Slim Handstop, through a challenge.

One of the most significant changes in this update is a full reset of aim assist. After launch, players reported that aim assist felt inconsistent, especially at longer ranges. The developers have reverted it to the Open Beta tuning, which restores steady aiming for all input types while still allowing customization. Controller input and stick responsiveness have also been improved, making soldier movement and aiming smoother overall.

Weapon accuracy has received a tune-up too. Sniper rifles outside the Recon class now perform better, and overall weapon dispersion has been reduced, making firefights more predictable and fair. Other polish includes clearer challenge and progression requirements, improved animations, and fixes for deployable gadgets like the LWCMS Portable Mortar, LTLM II Portable Laser Designator, and Supply Crates.

The update also brings numerous quality-of-life and bug fixes. Vaulting, diving, and water interactions now behave more reliably. Camera clipping issues, ragdolls, and weapon visibility glitches have all been addressed. Player movement, sprint animations, and combat-dive mechanics are smoother than before, and several controller-specific issues, including stick deadzone behavior and aiming inconsistencies, have been fixed.

Overall, Battlefield 6 Update 1.1.2.0 delivers a solid mix of new content and essential fixes. With the new map, weapons, and gameplay improvements, Season 1 feels fresher and more balanced for both casual and competitive players.
