Mutations in Plants vs Brainrots are nothing new. Most of them just make your plants hit harder so you can clear waves faster. But the Corrupted mutation is different. It has a special ability that makes your plants much tougher.
Getting Corrupted plants isn’t the same as normal mutations. Usually, you have to wait for certain events or use a witch potion during special weather to get a mutation when you plant a seed. But for Corrupted plants, there’s a guaranteed way to get them.
First, go to the central island using the mirror in your garden. Then, find the Corrupted Chef NPC. Hold a fruit and press the E key. Wait for 5 minutes, and the Corrupted plant will appear in your inventory.
The Corrupted mutation is not about dealing more damage. Instead, it boosts the plant’s health by ten times. This makes each plant feel like a tiny fortress. In story mode, where brainrots have higher health, this extra HP is crucial. Without it, your plants can get destroyed before doing much damage.
It’s definitely worth getting the Corrupted mutation. With extra health, your setup lasts longer, waves go down faster, and tanky enemies are easier to handle. If you try story mode without it, you’ll probably have to replay missions, and nobody wants that.
