Minecraft deserts just got a lot more exciting with the new mobs – Camel Husks and the Parched. The Camel Husk is a special undead camel. It behaves differently depending on who’s riding it. If undead mobs like Husks or Parched are on its back, it’s hostile. If no one is riding it, it becomes peaceful. Even though it’s undead, you can tame it and ride it all over the Minecraft world.
Camel Husks appear in desert biomes at night or in areas with no light. Only a few of them spawn with riders. About 10% of Camel Husks spawn with a Husk in front and a Parched behind. They only appear in open areas big enough for them and never in caves. When multiple Camel Husks spawn together, only one can have a rider. Baby Husks can’t ride Camel Husks at all.
Before taming a Camel Husk, you need to defeat the riders. Carry a shield and use a bow to take them out without hurting the Camel Husk. Once the riders are gone, you’re almost done.
To tame the Camel Husk, you need its favorite food – a rabbit’s foot. Hold it in your hand and approach the mob. The Camel Husk will notice you. Right-click to feed it the rabbit’s foot. Red hearts will appear over its head, and it’s tamed. Unlike horses, you don’t need to ride it to gain trust.
Once tamed, you can ride the Camel Husk by right-clicking on it with an empty hand. To control it, you need a saddle. Open the Camel Husk’s inventory by pressing E and place the saddle in the saddle slot. You can also equip the saddle by holding it and right-clicking on the Camel Husk’s back. The Camel Husk doesn’t need armor because it has a huge health bar and is immune to sunlight.
With a saddle, you can control its movement using the direction keys. You can also dash by holding the jump key until the dash meter fills, then releasing it for a long sprint.
That’s everything you need to know to find, tame, and ride a Camel Husk in Minecraft. This new mob in the Mounts of Mayhem update adds a lot of fun. Have you thought about jousting with friends using the new spear weapon yet?
