Genshin Impact Luna III brings a lot of new changes to the game. One of the biggest changes is the addition of Hexerei characters. These are special characters that get extra powers and buffs. For new or casual players, the idea of Hexerei characters can be a bit confusing. So, let’s break it down.
Hexerei is a new passive that applies to characters linked to the Hexenzirkel mages. In the story, Venti notices a new threat and needs to unlock a hidden power. He works with the Hexenzirkel mages and the Traveler at the Thousand Winds Temple to gain this power. This is part of why Venti gets big buffs in Luna III.
The Hexenzirkel Mages are closely tied to Mondstadt. The Knights of Favonius even made a pact with them to protect the city when it faces danger. With a new threat approaching, Alice introduces the Witch’s Homework for many characters from Mondstadt.
Witch’s Homework is a set of tasks you complete with a character to make them a Hexerei character. Once a character becomes Hexerei, they unlock the Hexerei Secret Rite effect. You need two Hexerei characters in a party to trigger this buff. The buffs are strong and change how these characters play.
Currently, there are eight Hexerei characters in Genshin Impact: Durin, Venti, Albedo, Mona, Klee, Sucrose, Razor, and Fischl. More characters will likely join this list as new Hexenzirkel mages appear in the game.
Durin is a new character, and his Hexerei Secret Rite boosts his Light Manifest talent by 75%. This increases Vaporize and Melt damage and lowers enemy resistance. It’s a huge boost for players using him with another Hexerei character.
Venti gets major changes. His Elemental Burst, Normal Attacks, and Constellations are stronger. His Stormeye now increases party damage and deals extra damage itself. Some of his abilities lower enemy resistances and give him extra damage bonuses.
Albedo also receives a big buff. His Elemental Skill creates Silver Isotomas, which can generate Transient Blossoms. These increase damage for nearby party members, especially other Hexerei characters. Many of his Constellations now boost damage, defense, and Elemental Mastery for the team.
Klee finally becomes more consistent. Her attacks are faster, and she can gain Boom Badges that increase the damage of her special attack. Her Elemental Burst now regenerates energy for the team, increases Pyro damage, and gives extra attacks without consuming resources sometimes.
Mona gains better Vaporize damage. Her charged attack extends the Omen effect on enemies, and her buffs increase party damage, critical rate, and elemental mastery, especially for Hexerei teammates.
Razor gets a straightforward damage boost. His Elemental Burst and Normal Attacks deal more damage. He can also trigger extra lightning strikes that restore energy and increase critical stats.
Fischl’s buffs are simple but effective. Triggering reactions like Overloaded or Electro-Charged increases ATK or Elemental Mastery for nearby party members. Her raven Oz gets stronger and extends buffs when present.
Sucrose now buffs her team much more. Creating Small or Large Wind Spirits increases damage for all allies. Some abilities also give extra elemental damage when reactions happen, especially for Hexerei teammates.
These are all the current Hexerei characters and their new buffs. They all play differently and bring new strategies to the game. Which Hexerei character do you like the most?
