Leonardo DiCaprio’s new action thriller, One Battle After Another, is now finally streaming in India. The movie had a strong run in theaters around the world, and people praised it for its big action scenes, emotional moments and the powerful performances by the cast. The film is directed by Paul Thomas Anderson, and it has now arrived on Prime Video for digital rental, so Indian viewers can watch it from home.

The movie is available to rent on Prime Video for Rs 499. This digital release comes soon after the film crossed the USD 200 million mark at the global box office. That number also makes it the highest-grossing film of Paul Thomas Anderson’s career. Even with such earnings, the film is still considered a box-office disappointment because of its very high budget. Reports say the production cost was between USD 130 million and USD 175 million, and the global marketing spend was also huge. Still, the movie continues to draw attention because Leonardo DiCaprio’s performance is widely praised, and Anderson’s direction brings a very unique style to the story.

One Battle After Another is loosely inspired by Thomas Pynchon’s 1990 novel Vineland. The film keeps the heart of the book with themes like activism, family issues and political tension. But Anderson adds new characters and storylines to make the film feel current and relatable. He also used VistaVision, a classic large-format filming technique that gives the movie a very rich and cinematic look. It is rare to see modern films shot this way, so the visuals stand out.

The story is about Bob Ferguson, a former revolutionary played by Leonardo DiCaprio. Bob is trying to build a quiet and simple life with his teenage daughter, Willa, played by Chase Infiniti. Their peace does not last long. Bob’s old enemy, Colonel Steven J. Lockjaw, played by Sean Penn, suddenly reappears after sixteen years. Soon after that, Willa goes missing. This forces Bob to return to a world he wanted to leave behind. Teyana Taylor plays Perfidia Beverly Hills, Bob’s partner, and her past connection with Lockjaw becomes a major part of the conflict.

The film was released in theaters on September 26, 2025. Critics praised the movie for its intense action scenes and the strong performances of DiCaprio, Sean Penn and Chase Infiniti. Viewers in India who missed the theatrical release can now watch the film on Prime Video through rental.
