Nvidia’s CEO, Jensen Huang, said that he has asked Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) to make more chips for Nvidia. The demand for artificial intelligence technology is growing so fast that the company needs more supplies to keep up.
Huang spoke to reporters in Taiwan during TSMC’s annual sports day. He said Nvidia’s business is doing really well and getting stronger every single month. According to him, the demand for AI chips is rising nonstop and the company is working hard to meet it.
Nvidia depends on TSMC to make the powerful chips used in data centers and cloud systems that run AI tools across the world. Huang mentioned that Nvidia’s other big partners—SK Hynix, Samsung, and Micron, are also increasing production to help meet this growing need. These companies make the memory chips that are essential for Nvidia’s newest AI products.
TSMC’s CEO, C.C. Wei, confirmed that Huang personally requested more chip supplies during their meeting. Wei told his employees that TSMC expects to keep breaking sales records every year because of the rising demand for AI-related chips.
Even though the AI market had a shaky week, with some investors doubting if the excitement around AI stocks can last, Nvidia still stands strong. Despite a few negative market moves, Nvidia remains the most valuable company in the world, even ahead of Apple and Microsoft. Its H100 and upcoming B100 processors are seen as the main reason investors continue to trust its long-term growth.
Other tech leaders also share Huang’s optimism. Qualcomm’s CEO said earlier this week that the world still doesn’t fully understand how big AI can become.
Huang’s visit to Taiwan also showed how important TSMC is to Nvidia’s success. The two companies work closely together to make Nvidia’s most advanced chips. Huang and Wei even had a private dinner to discuss ways to strengthen their partnership.
Huang thanked TSMC publicly, saying that without TSMC, Nvidia wouldn’t have reached where it is today. Wei said that TSMC’s factories are already working at full capacity but promised that the company is trying to close the gap between high demand and limited supply.
With AI growing rapidly across the world, both Nvidia and TSMC plan to keep working closely together to stay ahead in the global chip race.
