Hollywood veteran Kelsey Grammer, best known for playing the witty and charming Dr. Frasier Crane in Cheers and its spin-off Frasier, has once again stepped into fatherhood, at the age of 70. The actor and his wife, Kayte Walsh, have just welcomed their fourth child together, bringing Kelsey’s total number of children to eight.
Kelsey shared the happy news during his appearance on the Pod Meets World podcast on October 27, 2025. While talking about his upcoming memoir Karen: A Brother Remembers, dedicated to his late sister, he revealed the exciting update almost casually, saying, “We just had our fourth one, so it just became eight kids.” He added that the baby boy, named Christopher, had arrived “just three days ago.”
Kelsey and Kayte have been married for 13 years and already share three children: daughter Faith, 12, and sons Gabriel, 10, and James, 8. Their new baby boy, Christopher, is now the youngest in the big Grammer family.
Beyond his children with Kayte, the X-Men: The Last Stand star also has four kids from his previous relationships. He shares daughter Spencer, 41, with his first wife, Doreen Alderman; daughter Greer, 33, with ex Barrie Buckner; and two children, daughter Mason, 23, and son Jude, 20, with his third wife, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum Camille Meyer.
Fans first got a hint about the new addition earlier this year when Kelsey and Kayte were photographed in London in June 2025, with Kayte visibly expecting. Speaking to PEOPLE around that time, Kelsey opened up about fatherhood and reflected on his role as a dad to both his older and younger children. He admitted that he hadn’t always been as present as he would’ve liked with his older kids, saying, “I have neglected a couple of the kids in my life, especially the first two. I’m trying to make up for a little of it now. I’m still their dad, so you can always show up.”
He also talked about what he’s learned over the years, explaining that while he’s more relaxed with his younger kids, he tries to guide them with a sense of clarity and values. “There are certain expectations and ways to navigate through a social situation: keep it close to the vest and play it straight,” he shared.
Kelsey also reminisced about how he met his wife, Kayte, in one of those moments that sound straight out of a romantic film. The two met in 2009 during a flight to London, she was working as a flight attendant at the time. Kelsey recalled, “We actually met in the air on a plane to England. It was very romantic, and she was working on the plane. We went out for coffee several days later and had this magical night in the snow in London around Christmas time.”
The couple’s relationship began while Kelsey was still married to Camille Meyer, and the end of that marriage was famously documented on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Despite the rocky start, Kelsey and Kayte have built a strong and lasting bond over the years.
Now, with baby Christopher joining the family, the Grammers are celebrating another beautiful chapter. Congratulations to Kelsey and Kayte on their newest little bundle of joy.
