The Lollapalooza Indian music festival is back, and this year, the excitement is off the charts. The two-day festival, known for bringing together both local and international artists, just got a huge boost with the announcement that legendary American rock band Linkin Park will be performing.
Mike Shinoda, co-founder of the band, confirmed the news in a recent newsletter to fans. He revealed that Linkin Park will be performing in India as part of their Zero World Tour, and the dates coincide with Lollapalooza India 2026. Shinoda shared his excitement, saying, “India has been somewhere we’ve wanted to play for a long time. Our fans there are incredibly passionate and we can’t wait to finally bring our live show to them.”
Tickets, however, are still a bit tricky. They briefly appeared on Linkin Park’s official tour site but were taken down, and BookMyShow has not yet released tickets for the festival in Mumbai. Fans are left eagerly waiting, but Mike’s message has reassured them that the band’s performance is on the way.
Linkin Park, formed in California in the late 1990s, includes talented members Mike Shinoda, Brad Delson, Rob Bourdon, Joe Hahn, Chester Bennington, and Dave “Phoenix” Farrell. Originally called Xero, the band shot to fame with their 2000 single One Step Closer, which helped launch their debut album Hybrid Theory. Over the years, they released several successful albums, including Meteora, Minutes to Midnight, and A Thousand Suns. After the tragic death of Chester Bennington in 2017, the band took a pause, but they reunited in 2023-24 for the Zero World Tour, marking a highly anticipated comeback.
Lollapalooza India, the Asian edition of the iconic global festival, first took place in Mumbai in January 2023. It features multiple music genres, from rock and pop to indie, and has quickly become one of the biggest music festivals in Asia, celebrated for its music, food, art, and culture. Previous editions have featured big names like the Jonas Brothers, Halsey, and Royal Blood. With Linkin Park confirmed for 2026, fans can expect yet another unforgettable festival experience.
