Nice to Not Meet You is all set to bring a fresh wave of rom-com charm to K-drama fans. Prime Video recently shared photos from the show’s script reading, giving everyone a first look at the never-before-seen pairing of Squid Game star Lee Jung Jae and The Glory’s unforgettable villain Lim Ji Yeon. Alongside them, Kim Ji Hoon and Seo Ji Hye will also play key roles, making the cast lineup even more exciting.
Interestingly, the drama was initially titled Petty Love, but its English name is Nice to Not Meet You. The literal Korean title translates to Annoying Love, which perfectly matches the playful yet complicated storyline the show seems to promise.
Lee Jung Jae’s return to the small screen is a big highlight. This will be his first drama role since Squid Game shot him to worldwide fame, and fans are curious to see him in a completely different light. He will play Im Hyun Joon, a veteran actor who is tired of constantly being typecast as detectives and investigators. Wanting a softer touch to his career and life, he hopes for romantic roles. His world takes a turn when he meets Lim Ji Yeon’s Wi Jung Shin, a top political journalist whose career gets derailed after a scandal. She is forced to work on the entertainment desk, a move that changes everything for her.
The story will also feature Kim Ji Hoon as Lee Jae Hyung, a former baseball player who now runs a sports magazine. Though his heart is set on someone else, he finds himself unexpectedly drawn to Wi Jung Shin. Seo Ji Hye steps in as Yoon Hwa Young, the magazine’s entertainment head and Jae Hyung’s ex, adding more tension and drama to the mix.
The supporting cast is equally strong, with appearances from Oh Yeon Seo, Choi Gwi Hwa, Jeon Seong Woo, Kim Jae Chul, Na Young Hee, Jun Soo Kyung, Kim Hyun Jin, Jin Ho Eun, Kim Bup Rae, and Jo Hee Bong.
Slated to premiere in the second half of 2025, Nice to Not Meet You already has fans buzzing with anticipation. Between its star-studded cast, witty concept, and a storyline that blends romance with a dash of chaos, the drama is shaping up to be one of the most talked-about releases of the year.
