ZEROBASEONE, the K-pop group formed through the survival show Boys Planet (season 1), officially debuted on July 10, 2023. The group was originally set to promote for two years and six months under WakeOne, but their contracts are due to expire in January 2026. With less than six months left, speculation has grown over whether the nine members will renew their contracts and continue as a team.

On August 12, Joy News 24 reported that ZEROBASEONE had “agreed to extend their activities,” citing multiple music industry sources. They said that some members and their agencies are coordinating details and hope to finalize discussions soon, with the group’s current disbandment date listed as January 10, 2026. WakeOne, the management label, also commented to Ilgan Sports, stating that they value the group’s potential and have been in ongoing discussions with each member’s agency about extending their activities. However, nothing has been officially confirmed yet.

ZEROBASEONE, also called ZB1, consists of Sung Han Bin, Kim Ji Woong, Zhang Hao, Seok Matthew, Kim Tae Rae, Ricky, Kim Gyu Vin, Park Gun Wook, and Han Yu Jin. The group gained attention for being the first K-pop act to debut with a non-Korean member at the top spot. During Boys Planet, competition between Sung Han Bin and Chinese participant Zhang Hao was intense, with Zhang Hao ultimately securing the top position. His success highlighted the global appeal of overseas talents and has influenced plans for future international K-pop groups.

ZB1 is set to release their first studio album, NEVER SAY NEVER, on September 1, followed by a tour in October. Fans are eagerly awaiting both the album and news about the group’s future activities.
