The Camp Rock franchise is officially making a comeback with Camp Rock 3 on Disney+ and Disney Channel, 15 years after Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam. The big news is that while the Jonas Brothers—Joe, Nick, and Kevin—will reprise their roles as Shane, Nate, and Jason Grey, Demi Lovato will not return as Mitchie Torres, the central character of the first two films. This has understandably left fans upset, as many feel the series loses its heart without her on-screen presence. She will, however, return as an executive producer.
Instead of focusing on Mitchie, the film will introduce a new generation of campers competing to open for Connect 3’s reunion tour. The fresh cast includes:
-
Sage (Liamani Segura), the bold new protagonist
-
Desi (Hudson Stone), her easygoing brother
-
Fletch (Malachi Burton), the rebellious camp bad boy
-
Connie (Maria Canals-Barrera), Mitchie’s mother, maintaining continuity with the original films
Directed by Veronica Rodriguez and written by Eydie Faye, the movie aims to balance nostalgia with modern energy, preserving the musical and dramatic spirit of the original series.
No official release date has been announced yet, but with the Jonas Brothers returning and a fresh cast ready to shine, Camp Rock 3 is expected to attract both longtime fans and a new generation of viewers.
