Jessie Cave, who played Lavender Brown in the Harry Potter films, recently made headlines after being barred from a fan convention because of her OnlyFans account. Lavender Brown, a member of Dumbledore’s Army, is remembered for her relationship with Ron Weasley, making Jessie’s character a fan favorite. Jessie shared her reaction to being excluded, explaining that her OnlyFans content is non-sexual and focuses solely on hair. She revealed this on her Substack account and expressed her frustration at the reasoning behind the decision.
Jessie said the convention organisers told her she couldn’t attend because it was a “family show” and OnlyFans is mainly associated with porn. She pointed out the irony, noting that many actors at fan conventions have performed nudity or sex scenes in movies and TV shows, while her content is completely innocent. She said, “I found out that I didn’t get booked for a Harry Potter convention recently, as I’m now doing OnlyFans. They explained it was because it’s a ‘family show and OnlyFans is affiliated with porn.’ This was baffling to me as some actors who do conventions… have done TV and films in which they’ve done sex scenes and nudity. I’m just playing with my hair!”
Despite being barred, Jessie said she isn’t upset. She feels that fan conventions aren’t her main priority at this stage in her life. Having attended conventions for over 15 years, she said she already has enough photos and wizard memorabilia. She added, “I am not upset about the prospect of no more Harry Potter conventions. There’s going to be a new cast now and it’s a different time. Plus, I have done conventions for over 15 years and have enough photos and wizard memorabilia.”
Jessie joined OnlyFans in March 2025, primarily to post hair-focused content. The main reason she created the account was to get out of financial debt. She shared that her goal was to make her house safe, cover arsenic and lead in the walls, and build a new roof. She also wanted to empower herself, prove wrong those who misjudged her, and invest in self-love for the first time. OnlyFans became a way for her to achieve financial independence while focusing on her personal growth.
