The Lake Elsinore community is grieving after the tragic death of 15-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez. The young teen was found dismembered in the trunk of an impounded Tesla registered to rising R&B singer D4vd, who has millions of fans. Celeste went missing in April 2024, at just 13 years old, and the discovery of her remains has left the community heartbroken and shocked.
A candlelit vigil was held to mourn Celeste’s loss. Community members gathered to honour her memory and to call for justice. The event was emotional, with many expressing the deep impact of the tragedy and the need for answers.
Celeste’s remains were discovered on September 8, 2025. An employee at Hollywood Tow reported a strong, foul stench coming from a Tesla that had been abandoned in their yard for about five days. The car, originally towed from the Hollywood Hills, was registered to David Anthony Burke, the musician known as D4vd. The vehicle was reportedly located near the Hollywood Hills home he was renting at the time.
While authorities have not arrested D4vd due to a lack of evidence, some disturbing connections have surfaced. Reports suggest that Celeste and D4vd had matching tattoos on their right index fingers with the letters “Shhh” and that a demo song titled Celeste was leaked online. A former teacher revealed that Celeste met the singer on social media and had run away to Hollywood to meet him months before she was reported missing.
D4vd has cancelled his upcoming shows while the investigation continues. There is no direct evidence linking him to Celeste’s murder, but investigators are keeping him under close scrutiny. Parents at the vigil expressed deep empathy, saying that the tragedy could have affected any family and highlighting the nightmare Celeste’s loved ones have endured. One attendee said, “This really hits home as a mom. This could have been anybody’s kid.”
