Priscilla Presley has shared shocking details about her relationship with Elvis after the birth of their daughter, Lisa Marie. The couple met when Priscilla was just 14 and Elvis was 24. They married in 1967 and welcomed Lisa Marie in 1968.

In her new memoir, Softly, As I Leave You, Priscilla reveals that Elvis lost interest in her sexually after she gave birth. She explained that he “was never able to make love to a woman who’d had a child.” Despite her efforts with lingerie and makeup, nothing worked. He remained flirtatious and affectionate, but that was all.

Elvis was also hesitant to have another child, which added to Priscilla’s fears. She wrote that before they finally had sex again, Elvis told her that being the mother of his child was very special. Still, she admitted feeling emotionally and physically unfulfilled, questioning her own sexuality.

Priscilla also reflected on the stress of becoming a mother at 22, dealing with loneliness, and her husband’s rejection. She said this contributed to her affair with her karate instructor, Mike Stone, which eventually led to her leaving Elvis.

Priscilla never remarried Elvis, though she later had a child with screenwriter Marco Garibaldi in 1987, ten years after Elvis’ death.
