Elliot Page has made his first red carpet appearance with his new partner since coming out as transgender. The actor, known for roles in Juno, The Umbrella Academy, and Inception, publicly came out as gay in 2014 and as trans in December 2020.
Page was previously married to dancer Emma Portner and has dated Olivia Thirlby and Kate Mara. On Tuesday evening, he and his new girlfriend, comedian Julia Shiplett, attended the premiere of Gucci’s The Tiger in Milan, Italy. The two first sparked dating rumors in June during Pride Month in Iceland when they shared a sweet selfie on a rainbow flag-painted street.
Fans have been quick to send love and congratulations online. Julia also shared a playful video of Page shirtless in a hot spring, captioned “Happy prideee.”
Page came out as trans in 2020, sharing that his pronouns are he/they and expressing gratitude for the support he received along the way. He said he feels lucky to have arrived at a place where he can fully embrace his authentic self.
Fans will also be excited to see Page on the big screen soon in the upcoming movie The Odyssey, directed by Christopher Nolan. This marks his second collaboration with Nolan, after appearing in Inception in 2010.
