Chishiya first appeared in Alice in Borderland Season 1 and quickly made a strong impression. While he wasn’t a major villain, he played a tricky, almost antagonistic role during the Beach arc, deceiving Arisu and Usagi and even getting Arisu beaten up by Aguni and his gang. His cunning and manipulative ways initially made viewers dislike him, but over time, his sharp mind, wit, and unique personality won over audiences around the world.

Despite his popularity, the official trailers for Season 3 didn’t show Chishiya at all. Fans have been left wondering whether he makes an appearance in the latest season or if his story has already concluded.

Is Chishiya in Alice in Borderland Season 3?

Chishiya doesn’t play a major role in Alice in Borderland Season 3, but fans do get a brief cameo from him in the final episode. He returns to the real world after Arisu and Usagi’s climactic battle with Mira, the Queen of Hearts, though he isn’t involved in the last games or confrontations.

The limited presence of Chishiya is partly due to actor Nijiro Murakami taking a break from acting to focus on his health. Reports suggest that the season could have included him more, but the script had to be adjusted to accommodate his hiatus.

Season 3 focuses mainly on Arisu and Usagi. While the previous season adapted the full Alice in Borderland manga, the third season follows an original story that incorporates only minor elements from Retry, the manga sequel. For example, Arisu and Usagi’s marriage is drawn from Retry, but the storyline around Usagi mysteriously vanishing with Ryuji Matsuyama is new. The season centers on their struggles in Purgatory and the brutal games they face, keeping the spotlight firmly on the main pair.

Given this focus, it makes sense that Chishiya was largely kept out of the story. While fans may miss his clever schemes and sharp wit, the narrative of Season 3 was designed to follow Arisu and Usagi’s journey to its conclusion.
