BTS’ Jungkook’s Instagram account gets verified with just 1 post and 9 million followers

Jungkook has officially made his long-awaited return to Instagram after a two-year break, and fans couldn’t be more excited. The BTS star, who previously deleted his massively popular account with over 50 million followers back in February 2023, surprised ARMYs by reintroducing himself on the platform in mid-July.

During a joint livestream with fellow members V and RM, Jungkook revealed his new account under the playful username @mnijungkook, which he explained simply stands for “my name is Jungkook.” Within days, the account quickly gained traction, and on July 22 — just a week after going public — Instagram granted him the coveted verification badge. Fans later learned that he had actually created the account earlier this year, in January, but had kept it under wraps until now.

The singer currently follows only six accounts — all his BTS bandmates plus the group’s official page — a move that delighted fans with its understated charm. Despite being brand new to the public, the account exploded in popularity, amassing 6.5 million followers within the first 24 hours. While that number doesn’t yet compare to the record-breaking 50 million he built during his first run on Instagram, the quick growth highlights the sheer dedication of ARMY. As of now, Jungkook’s new profile has already surpassed 9 million followers.

Interestingly, Jungkook is also linked to another account, @bowwow_bam, which he co-manages with his brother. That profile, which often features more personal glimpses into his life, already has around 7.7 million followers.

So far, the only upload on his main new account is a single photo — a striking image of his gold-and-green JK logo trademark. The simple but symbolic post has already fueled speculation about whether the star might be preparing for a solo comeback. While BigHit has not released any official confirmation, the post has left fans buzzing with theories.

For now, Jungkook’s focus seems to be on reconnecting with fans through casual livestreams and interactive Q&A sessions, something he previously said he missed after stepping away from Instagram. At the same time, he’s also busy working with BTS on their much-anticipated group comeback. The group is currently reported to be in the U.S. for a two-month-long song camp, gearing up for a full album release sometime in spring 2026.
