Brandon Boston Jr., once considered one of the top high school basketball prospects in the country, is now on the verge of making a major move overseas. According to European insider Donatas Urbonas, the 23-year-old guard is close to signing with EuroLeague powerhouse Fenerbahce. This move would mark a significant transition in Boston’s young but winding basketball journey.
Boston entered the spotlight early as a top-five recruit in the 2020 class. Expectations were high when he committed to play at Kentucky, but his one college season didn’t go as planned. Struggling to find consistency, he slipped in the 2021 NBA Draft and was selected 51st overall by the Memphis Grizzlies before landing with the Los Angeles Clippers.
Over three seasons with the Clippers, Boston averaged a modest 6.2 points per game. In 2024–25, after joining the New Orleans Pelicans, he posted his best numbers yet with 10.7 points and 2.2 assists per game, showing flashes of the scoring talent that once made him a prep star. Still, despite those improvements, it seems his NBA opportunities have stalled for now.
Now, Fenerbahce appears ready to take a chance on Boston. The Turkish club just won the EuroLeague and boasts a strong roster featuring several recognizable names, including Wade Baldwin IV, Scottie Wilbekin, Bonzie Colson, and Khem Birch. Adding Boston to that mix would only deepen an already talented lineup. His scoring ability and athleticism could give Fenerbahce another dynamic option on the wing as they look to repeat their European success.
For Boston, this move could be a fresh start. At just 23, he still has time to develop and make an eventual return to the NBA or establish himself as a top talent overseas. If the deal is finalized, it could mark the beginning of an important new chapter in his career.
