Netflix is gearing up to bring wrestling fans closer to the action than ever before with the release of WWE: Unreal, a five-part docuseries narrated by Paul Levesque, better known as Triple H. The newly released trailer offers an intimate look into the high-stakes, high-drama world behind professional wrestling, showcasing what really goes on behind the curtain of one of the most theatrically driven sports in the world.
Opening with a scene inside the WWE writer’s room, the trailer immediately draws viewers into the heart of the creative chaos that fuels the sport. For the first time, fans will see how pivotal decisions are made—from scripting championship storylines to building the tension that drives millions to tune in. This new project offers an unprecedented look into the creative engine that powers WWE’s legendary spectacles.
Set to feature icons like John Cena and Cody Rhodes, the series also includes appearances from current stars such as Rhea Ripley, CM Punk, Jey Uso, Bianca Belair, Chelsea Green, Charlotte Flair, and Xavier Woods. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Levesque shared the intent behind the series, saying, “Our business evolves and so do the expectations of our audience.” He emphasized that collaborating with NFL Films and Omaha Productions gave them the perfect team to “pull back the curtain and showcase WWE in a brand-new way.”
Directed by Chris Weaver and executive produced by a powerhouse team including Peyton Manning and Jamie Horowitz, WWE: Unreal marks another milestone in Netflix’s growing relationship with WWE. The docuseries is part of a broader content deal, which began after the platform acquired the streaming rights to WWE’s flagship show Raw earlier this year. Netflix’s WWE programming now includes SmackDown and NXT as well, strengthening its position as a go-to platform for wrestling fans worldwide.
More than just a behind-the-scenes exposé, WWE: Unreal aims to bridge the gap between fiction and reality—offering a raw, unfiltered view of the passion, pressure, and personalities that drive one of entertainment’s most enduring industries. The series begins streaming on Netflix starting July 29.
