Brody Jenner and Tia Blanco have officially tied the knot in a heartfelt and intimate ceremony that took place on Saturday, July 12. The wedding was hosted at the Malibu home of Brody’s mother, Linda Thompson, with about 60 to 70 guests in attendance, as reported by TMZ. The setting was kept close-knit and personal, emphasizing the couple’s desire for a meaningful and private celebration surrounded by family and close friends. Among the guests was Caitlyn Jenner, Brody’s father, whose presence held significance given their historically complex relationship. Her attendance came during an emotionally challenging period, as she had just suffered the loss of a close friend, Sophia Hutchins, less than two weeks earlier.
The wedding comes just over a year after Brody proposed to Tia in June 2023, during her pregnancy with their daughter, Honey. Now one year old, Honey played a special role in the celebration, and Brody had expressed excitement about seeing his daughter dressed up for the occasion. The ceremony marked not only the union of Brody and Tia but also the continued growth of their young family, a moment that Brody had long looked forward to.
Caitlyn Jenner’s appearance at the wedding followed the sudden and tragic death of Sophia Hutchins, who died on July 2 in an ATV accident. According to Sergeant Eduardo Saucedo of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, Hutchins may have been speeding when her vehicle went off the trail and plunged roughly 350 feet down a ravine. The devastating incident left Caitlyn visibly shaken. Just a day later, on July 3, she was seen in Malibu on a coffee run, where she briefly acknowledged to reporters that she was going through “tough times” and was not ready to speak publicly about the loss. Caitlyn and Sophia had known each other since 2015, having met through their hairstylists, and remained close friends for nearly a decade.
Despite their past distance, Brody recently shared that he and Caitlyn have reached a better understanding. In a moment of emotional vulnerability during a January episode of Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test, Brody spoke about receiving a sincere apology from Caitlyn for not being more present during his rise to fame alongside the Kardashians. He described it as the first genuine apology he had ever received from his father, and it seemed to help mend parts of their relationship just in time for this major milestone in his life.
Ahead of the wedding, Brody spoke warmly to PEOPLE about his excitement for the big day. He revealed that he already felt deeply committed to Tia, but the ceremony was something he still anticipated with great joy. He admitted he hadn’t seen Tia’s dress, as they kept that part traditional, but he knew she was in love with it and was eager to see her walk down the aisle. Brody also mentioned being particularly excited to see both Tia and their daughter Honey in their outfits, knowing that the moment would be filled with love and unforgettable memories. The wedding brought together moments of joy, healing, and family connection, closing one chapter and beginning another for the new couple.
