TOMORROW X TOGETHER (TXT) made a powerful return on July 21, 2025, with the release of their long-awaited fourth Korean studio album DESIRE : UNLEASH and its title track Beautiful Strangers. Dropped just minutes before 6 PM KST, the music video immediately captivated fans with its emotionally rich narrative and stunning visuals, marking a significant moment in the group’s discography. This comeback also signals their first full-length album since The Name Chapter: FREEFALL in 2023, heightening anticipation and setting high expectations.
Beautiful Strangers explores the profound, almost fated bond between two people who find each other in the middle of life’s turmoil. The music video visually represents this chaos through a series of symbolic and destructive events—car accidents, raging fires, collapsing structures—emphasizing how destabilizing life can feel at times. But amid the madness, the protagonists find comfort in a single, soul-deep glance from someone who feels familiar despite being a stranger. It is through this fleeting yet intense connection that they transcend their current reality, entering a fantasy-like realm where they are safe, understood, and no longer alone.
The song’s lyrics express this beautifully. There’s a distinct sense of poetic longing, coupled with hope, as the strangers make a silent vow to be each other’s refuge. The refrain—“this moment is so beautiful”—underscores the fleeting nature of peace found in unexpected places. TXT’s signature style of emotionally-charged storytelling shines through the composition, blending pop melodies with haunting undertones and a powerful dance break that intensifies the song’s message.
Visually, the music video is a cinematic masterpiece. Each member—Soobin, Yeonjun, Beomgyu, Taehyun, and Huening Kai—is depicted navigating personal grief and hardship. Yet, in their moments of despair, they each cross paths with a stranger who seems to understand their pain instinctively. These encounters unfold into a visually rich sequence of shared silence, symbolic gestures, and surreal scenery, all implying that their scars, while invisible to the world, have connected them at a deeper level. It’s a tale of finding salvation in someone else’s presence, even if just for a moment.
The track is part of The Star Chapter: TOGETHER album, which continues TXT’s tradition of deeply conceptual storytelling. With eight tracks, including solo songs from each member, the album showcases not only their collective growth but also their individual artistry. Yeonjun’s Ghost Girl, Soobin’s Sunday Driver, Beomgyu’s Dance With You and Take My Half, Taehyun’s Bird of Night, and the group’s emotive closing track Song of the Stars offer a varied sonic palette and lyrical depth that complement the themes of connection, yearning, and resilience found in Beautiful Strangers.
Following the album’s release, TXT is preparing to take the stage again with their ACT : TOMORROW world tour, beginning with two performances at Seoul’s Gocheok Dome on August 22 and 23. The album and music video have set the tone for what promises to be an emotionally rich and visually stunning tour, as the group continues to push boundaries and connect with fans through their ever-evolving artistry.
