Korean dramas are known for constantly trying new ideas, and S Line is a fresh example of that bold creativity. This new show, adapted from a popular webtoon by Kkomabi, doesn’t hold back when it comes to difficult or controversial topics. Instead of avoiding them, it dives right in with a bold and unusual storyline. People are already talking about it, especially after it was shown at the 8th Cannes International Series Festival. There, it received a lot of praise for being original and even won the Best Music award in its category. With a storyline that turns something as private as relationships into a public spectacle, S Line is already shaping up to be one of the most talked-about Korean dramas of 2025.
The series is scheduled to premiere exclusively on the streaming platform Wavve on July 11, 2025. Unlike the usual long Korean dramas, S Line will be short and to the point, with just six episodes in total. Two new episodes will be released every Friday, which means the show will wrap up in just three weeks. The schedule is straightforward: episodes 1 and 2 on July 11, episodes 3 and 4 on July 18, and the final episodes 5 and 6 on July 25. Since this is a Wavve original, you’ll need a paid subscription to watch it, as the platform doesn’t offer any free trials. So, viewers who want to keep up with the release dates should plan ahead.
The story of S Line might start off like a normal mystery drama, but the idea behind it is anything but ordinary. It takes place in a world where red glowing lines appear above people’s heads. These strange lines connect individuals who’ve had intimate relationships, making their private lives visible to everyone around them. These lines, which people start calling “S Lines,” often reveal secrets people would rather keep hidden, and that leads to major changes in their lives.
At the center of the story is Han Ji Wook, a detective who becomes determined to find out where these red lines are coming from. As he investigates, he realizes the connections aren’t random and that there may be a deeper force at work. He’s not alone in his search. He teams up with Gyu Jin, a high school teacher who also has the rare ability to see the lines, and Hyun Heup, a student who’s lived her whole life being able to see them. Together, they try to find a special pair of glasses that allows regular people to see the lines too. Along the way, they uncover hidden truths and are forced to face difficult moral questions.
The cast brings a lot of excitement to the drama. Lee Soo Hyuk plays the main character, Detective Han Ji Wook, who may seem calm on the outside but is deeply committed to uncovering the truth. Arin, better known as Choi Ye Won from the girl group OH MY GIRL, plays Shin Hyun Heup, the high school student who’s always been able to see the red lines. Lee Da Hee takes on the role of Gyu Jin, a composed teacher with her own unique gift. As the premiere date gets closer, people are eager to see if S Line will live up to the hype. Judging by the positive reaction at the festival, there’s a good chance it will.
