For off-road purists, capability often comes down to clearance and suspension flex. But for power-hungry enthusiasts, nothing says adventure like a supercharged V8 cranking out over 700 horsepower. That’s exactly what ECD Automotive Design delivers with “Project Wilder,” a custom Land Rover that fuses classic design with modern muscle in the most extreme way possible.

Based on the original Defender, Project Wilder is ECD’s most powerful off-road build to date. Under the hood is a GM-sourced V8 fitted with a supercharger, channelling its monstrous output through a T56 six-speed manual transmission. The result? Raw mechanical performance paired with the kind of old-school engagement that’s rarely seen in today’s off-roaders. A Borla Sport exhaust gives this beast a ferocious roar to match its performance.

While the new Land Rover Defender OCTA impresses with its 626-hp twin-turbo V8, ECD’s custom creation goes even further. The chassis has been reinforced and coated in Raptor Liner for durability, while air suspension and Brembo brakes help handle the added power. A fresh coat of Eastnor Green paint with Nara Bronze accents gives the build a refined military flair, complemented by 20-inch bronze wheels wrapped in BFGoodrich all-terrain tires.

Inside, Project Wilder is a luxury lounge on wheels. Rich Buffalo Distressed Cuoio leather with honeycomb stitching lines the cabin, paired with Sapele walnut wood trim and an Alcantara headliner. Recaro seats offer support for spirited driving, and a wood-rimmed steering wheel adds vintage charm.

Modern tech hasn’t been forgotten. The truck features Apple CarPlay, Focal speakers, dual subwoofers, a panoramic roof, and even driver aids like blind spot monitoring and reverse cameras. It’s a blend of rugged performance and high-end comfort that makes this one of the most unique off-road builds in existence.

While the factory Defender OCTA offers plenty, ECD’s Project Wilder proves that with enough imagination and horsepower, you can always go wilder.
