Bayern Munich’s recent signings haven’t been too successful, except for Michael Olise, who has done really well right away. Over the past few seasons, several new players have struggled to make an impact or have already left the club.

One of those players is Joao Palhinha. He joined Bayern in 2024 with high expectations after a strong spell at Fulham, but his first season in Germany didn’t go as planned. His performances weren’t very impressive, and now there are rumours that Bayern may try to sell him this summer.

However, Palhinha says he’s not planning to leave just yet. In an interview with Sport TV Portugal, he said he still has three years left on his contract and plans to return to the club for pre-season on the 29th. He admitted it was a tough first year, but is feeling motivated to prove himself in the new season. He called Bayern a “very special” and “huge” club and said he’s looking forward to getting back to work after his vacation.

Even though he wants to stay, many clubs are interested in signing him. Arsenal and Tottenham are keeping an eye on him, as well as Fulham, who would like to bring him back on loan with a promise to buy. Italian teams Inter Milan and Juventus are also interested, and a few clubs in Spain and Turkey are watching his situation too.

Last season, Palhinha played only 25 matches for Bayern in all competitions. If he stays, there’s a good chance he’ll get more playing time under the new manager, Vincent Kompany. Palhinha has proven himself before with Fulham and the Portuguese national team, so he could still become an important part of Bayern’s midfield if given the chance.
