Manchester United fans are growing restless this summer. They’re unhappy with how slowly the club is moving in the transfer market, especially since there’s still no deal done for Brentford star Bryan Mbuemo. Supporters were hoping for some big moves, but it’s all feeling a bit too quiet.
And while fans are focused on who might come in, there’s drama unfolding off the pitch, too. Former United defender Axel Tuanzebe has reportedly filed a lawsuit against the club, claiming they gave him poor medical advice during his time there. This news comes from The Telegraph.
Tuanzebe has a long history with United. He joined the club as a young boy and climbed up the ranks at their Carrington academy. He was highly rated from the start and even captained the team at various youth levels. But injuries kept holding him back, and despite all the promise, he only managed to make 37 appearances for the senior team before parting ways with the club in 2023.
Now 27, Tuanzebe is taking legal action, saying the medical guidance he received from the club might have impacted his career and well-being.
Tuanzebe is still in the Premier League spotlight
Even with all this happening, Tuanzebe isn’t stepping away from football. After playing for Ipswich Town last season and helping them get promoted to the Premier League, he’s made a move to Burnley for the upcoming 2025/26 season.
Burnley, who are back in the top flight, will likely benefit from Tuanzebe’s experience. He played 23 games for Ipswich last season, but chose not to renew his contract there. Instead, he opted for a fresh start with Burnley, where he’s expected to be a key part of the team under manager Scott Parker, thanks to his ability to play in multiple defensive roles.
So while Manchester United are under pressure to act fast in the transfer market, they’re also dealing with serious issues from the past, and Tuanzebe’s case might just open up bigger questions about how the club handles player injuries.
