Sean “Diddy” Combs’ legal team has once again called for a mistrial in his high-profile sex trafficking case, following bombshell testimony from Bryana “Bana” Bongolan. In a dramatic June 4 court session, Bongolan alleged that Diddy once dangled her over a Los Angeles balcony in 2016 while screaming, “You know what the f\*\*\* you did.” She claimed the incident left her physically injured and psychologically scarred, suffering from night terrors and paranoia to this day.
Diddy’s lawyers swiftly pushed back, filing a formal motion asking Judge Arun Subramanian to declare a mistrial. They argue Bongolan’s story is not only false but supported by equally questionable testimony from Cassie, whose real name is Casandra Ventura. Cassie previously stated under oath that she witnessed the balcony incident, but the defense presented a new piece of evidence suggesting otherwise: a text message she allegedly sent to Diddy’s employee Kristina Khorram, saying, “I just found out some crazy s\*\*\*.” According to Diddy’s team, this message proves Cassie didn’t actually see the event unfold and learned about it only later, undermining the reliability of her statement.
Diddy’s attorneys also claim photographic evidence places Bongolan in Los Angeles at the time of the alleged incident, while Diddy was supposedly elsewhere, further casting doubt on the accuracy of her timeline. During cross-examination, defense attorney Nicole Westmoreland zeroed in on contradictions in Bongolan’s story—particularly regarding whether she was smoking marijuana or a cigarette during the alleged confrontation, a detail that differs between her current testimony and her 2023 lawsuit.
The court has not yet ruled on the mistrial motion. Judge Subramanian previously denied a similar request in May, when Diddy’s team argued that testimony from Kid Cudi about an alleged car bombing was irrelevant and prejudicial. This latest bid, however, hinges on claims that the prosecution allowed knowingly false testimony, which could weigh more heavily on the judge’s decision.
