Alex Cooper’s revelations in her new Hulu docuseries Call Her Alex have added a deeply personal and painful chapter to her public story, as she comes forward with serious allegations of sexual harassment against her former college soccer coach, Nancy Feldman. The two-part series, which premiered at the Tribeca Festival on June 8, pulls back the curtain on a period of Cooper’s life she had long kept private—her time at Boston University between 2013 and 2015, where she played Division I soccer on a full scholarship.
In the documentary, Cooper shares that Feldman began singling her out during her sophomore year, focusing an uncomfortable amount of attention on her physical appearance and personal life. She recounts comments Feldman allegedly made about her legs, repeated physical contact such as placing a hand on her thigh, and invasive questions about her relationships, including one especially disturbing moment when Feldman reportedly asked during a private meeting, “Did you have sex last night?” Another memory Cooper shares is of being told to ride alone with the coach to a night class, a moment she describes as deeply unsettling.
Cooper makes clear the bind she was in—trapped by the fear of losing her scholarship if she pushed back. Though her family consulted legal counsel and submitted written documentation to Boston University, Cooper claims no formal action was taken, and Feldman remained in her position until her retirement in 2022. Cooper ultimately decided not to return to the soccer team for her senior year, though she was allowed to retain her scholarship.
During a Q&A following the Tribeca premiere, Cooper opened up about why she waited a decade to speak out. She said revisiting the BU soccer field during filming triggered intense emotions, making her feel like the frightened 18-year-old she once was, overshadowed by someone in a position of power. Despite her current influence and success, she described that moment as one of emotional regression—reminding her of the damage done and the sense of safety and passion for the sport that was taken from her.
Directed by Ry Russo-Young, Call Her Alex offers a raw, unfiltered view of Cooper’s personal and professional journey. With both episodes set to release June 10 on Hulu, the series promises not just a story of resilience and success, but also a reckoning with past trauma that had long been hidden from public view.
