Fans of the Cleveland Guardians got some good news about one of their rising young players, Travis Bazzana. He’s been recovering from an injury he got back in May, a muscle strain in his side called an “oblique injury.” It’s taken some time, but he’s finally starting to feel better and is slowly getting back into baseball shape.
The team’s top baseball executive, Chris Antonetti, gave an update and said things are moving in the right direction. Travis has now started light training again. He’s doing things like throwing the ball, running, and swinging the bat. That’s a big step forward, even though he still needs a few more weeks before he can play in real games again.
Before the injury, Travis was doing pretty well for the Guardians’ Triple-A team, the Akron RubberDucks. In 127 turns at bat, he had solid numbers that showed promise for his future.
Chris Antonetti also spoke about how well Travis has been adjusting to professional baseball. Since joining the team last year after college, he’s been learning and growing a lot. Unfortunately, the injury slowed him down, but the Guardians are still excited about what he can bring once he’s fully healthy again.
Originally, the team had hoped Travis might make his major league debut this year. But because of the time he’s missed with the injury, that probably won’t happen until next season in 2026.
Still, the fact that Travis is back on the field doing baseball activities is a really good sign. It shows that he’s healing and getting closer to being able to play again. The team and fans are hopeful he’ll come back stronger and continue his journey to the big leagues soon.
