Looks like there’s some big news coming out of EastEnders! Bobby Brazier, the actor who plays Freddie Slater, is going to say goodbye to the show sometime later in 2025. He’s been part of the soap for three years now, and fans have really grown to love him.

The news first popped up in The Sun, and the official EastEnders team later confirmed it. They said, “Yep, Bobby’s leaving, and we wish him all the best in whatever he does next.” So, it’s official!

If you’re not super familiar, Bobby’s character Freddie is the son of Little Mo Mitchell, and he’s been part of quite a few juicy storylines. From uncovering the truth about his real dad to being involved in a complicated friendship, and love triangle with Bobby Beale and Anna Knight, Freddie’s journey has had lots of ups and downs. Basically, he’s been at the heart of a lot of drama.

Where have you seen Bobby Brazier before?

You might also remember that Bobby Brazier stepped away from the soap in 2023 to take part in Strictly Come Dancing. He danced his heart out with partner Dianne Buswell, and the pair made it all the way to the final! They ended up as runners-up, which is still a huge deal. The competition was tough, with celebs like Layton Williams and Ellie Leach in the mix.

Outside of EastEnders and Strictly, Bobby’s been keeping busy. He’s appeared on Celebrity Gogglebox and landed a role in a 2024 series on Paramount Plus called Curfew, where he starred alongside well-known actors like Sarah Parish (from Industry) and Mandip Gill (from Doctor Who).

But Bobby isn’t the only one leaving Albert Square. A few other characters are on their way out too. Matthew Morrison (who plays Felix Baker) and Clair Norris (who plays Bernadette Taylor) are also being written out. And another big one, Lacey Turner, who plays Stacey Slater, will be leaving the show later this year too.

Lacey told The Sun that both she and Stacey “need a break” and hinted that Stacey’s off-screen adventures will probably be anything but boring. The EastEnders team confirmed she’ll be leaving for now, but they also said they’re looking forward to welcoming her back whenever she feels ready.

So, yeah, it’s a season of goodbyes on EastEnders, but the drama definitely isn’t slowing down anytime soon.

You can catch all the action Monday to Thursday at 7:30pm on BBC One, or stream early from 6am on BBC iPlayer.
