Before it even aired, Suits LA was one of the most eagerly awaited new shows out there. Fans of the original Suits series had high hopes and were really excited to see what this spin-off would bring. But once the show actually premiered, many viewers felt a bit let down — like it just didn’t quite hit the mark they were expecting. And sadly, not long after its first season wrapped up, the series was canceled.

This decision came as a shock to a lot of loyal fans, especially since the Suits franchise has been around for a while and has a strong following. To explain why they pulled the plug so quickly, an executive from NBC opened up about the reasons behind the cancellation.

At first, NBC had hoped the show would pick up steam. They had invested a lot of effort and faith in making the spin-off, so they considered giving it more time to grow. But Jeff Bader, who’s in charge of planning strategy at NBCUniversal Entertainment, told reporters recently that the network just didn’t see the show coming to life the way they had hoped.

He said, “Deciding which shows to bring back is always tough, and Suits had a very short run. But honestly, it just didn’t connect with audiences the way we expected.”

Jeff also mentioned that there are lots of reasons people might think Suits LA didn’t make it to a second season, but the bottom line is that the network didn’t feel it had the future potential to grow and succeed on their channel.

He added, “These are the kinds of tough calls we have to make.” Jeff explained that the team constantly watches how shows perform, not just on traditional TV but also online and on streaming platforms. They look closely at which shows are gaining fans and which ones are losing ground, and they have to make decisions based on those trends.

The Suits LA cast included actors like Stephen Amell, Lex Scott Davis, and Josh McDermitt, with special guest appearances from stars of the original series, including Gabriel Macht.
