Brooklyn Beckham recently opened up about his dad, David Beckham, in a way we don’t often see — especially with all the rumors swirling about tension in their family. In an interview with The Sunday Times, Brooklyn talked warmly about one of the things that really connects him with his dad: their shared love for racing and cool cars.
He said, “It’s something that me and my dad bonded over,” and explained that his passion for racing started when he was really young. Brooklyn also gave a shoutout to David’s impressive car collection, saying, “My dad’s had some pretty cool cars.” Apparently, David’s favorite is a classic 1954 Jaguar, but he only takes it out when the weather is just right. Brooklyn admitted he hardly drives it himself.
These positive vibes come right after reports that David is worried about his relationship with Brooklyn and really wants to make things better. According to The Sun, David fears he might be “losing” Brooklyn — and that feeling hits close to home for him because he had a tough patch with his own dad, Ted Beckham, years ago. They stopped speaking for a while in the early 2000s, but eventually reconnected after Ted’s health scare in 2007.
The family drama has been in the spotlight again recently because Brooklyn and his wife, Nicola Peltz, skipped all of David’s 50th birthday parties, which raised some eyebrows. There’s even talk that Romeo Beckham’s girlfriend, Kim Turnbull, got caught up in the drama and was unfairly blamed for causing the rift — some now say she’s being used as a “scapegoat.”
