Amazon Prime Video’s upcoming Elle — a prequel exploring Elle Woods’ high school years — has expanded its cast with five new recurring guest stars, Variety reports. Joining the show are Chloe Wepper, David Burtka, Brad Harder, Kayla Maisonet, and Lisa Yamada.
Set before Elle’s Harvard Law days, the series stars Lexi Minetree as Elle Woods. Chloe Wepper will play Ms. Burke, Elle’s chemistry teacher and cheer choreographer; David Burtka and Brad Harder portray a married couple, Chad and Charlie; and Kayla Maisonet and Lisa Yamada play Elle’s high school friends Tiffany and Amber.
Created and co-showrun by Laura Kittrell and Caroline Dries, with Reese Witherspoon and Lauren Neustadter executive producing, Elle aims to deliver a fresh yet nostalgic look at the beloved character’s origins. Directed by Jason Moore for the first two episodes, the series is produced by Amazon MGM Studios and is already generating buzz for its mix of comedy and drama.
