Brad Arnold, the lead vocalist of iconic rock band 3 Doors Down, shared heartbreaking news with fans in an emotional Instagram video. He revealed he has been diagnosed with stage 4 kidney cancer, specifically clear cell renal carcinoma that has spread to his lungs.
In the video, Arnold explained how he recently got tested at the hospital and received the difficult diagnosis. Despite the gravity of his condition, he expressed unwavering faith and positivity, saying, “We serve a mighty God, and He can overcome anything. So, I have no fear. I really and sincerely am not scared of it at all.”
As a result of his health battle, the band has canceled their planned 2025 summer tour, which was set to begin on May 15 in Daytona Beach, Florida. This tour would have been their first in nearly a decade following the release of their last album, Us and the Night.
Arnold asked fans for their prayers and support during this challenging time, referencing the band’s own song as a source of strength: “I think it’s time to go listen to ‘It’s Not My Time’ a little, right?”
His Instagram caption read:
“Thank you for all the memories so far. Now, I believe ‘ITS NOT MY TIME’ is really my song. This’ll be a battle so we need our prayer warriors! Thank y’all for being the best fans in the world. We love y’all!”
The outpouring of love and prayers from fans flooded the comments, with many sending strength, healing, and blessings to the rock star during his fight.
