After his girlfriend Monica Barbaro attended this year’s Met Gala, he stuck around waiting for her to come back from the after-party. Some might say that’s just basic boyfriend behavior, but for many, it’s still a really sweet and caring move.
According to reports from Just Jared, while Garfield didn’t walk the famous blue carpet himself, he was definitely in New York City that night. People spotted him hanging out in the lobby of The Mark Hotel around 1 a.m. on Tuesday morning, May 6—just patiently waiting for Monica to return from the party.
A video shared by Cosmopolitan on Instagram showed the Spider-Man actor dressed down and comfy. He rocked a simple t-shirt, a blue-and-white button-down jacket, and jeans, carrying a black tote bag. Meanwhile, Monica looked absolutely stunning in her glamorous outfit.
This year was a big deal for Monica because it was her first time ever attending the Met Gala. She walked the carpet looking fabulous in a Dior outfit—a chic white jacket paired with a black skirt, topped off with a stylish hat and black gloves. It totally fit the event’s theme, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style.”
Later, for the after-party, Monica changed into a beautiful black tulle Dior dress from the Fall-Winter 2025 collection, according to People magazine.
As for Andrew, he hasn’t graced the Met Gala red carpet since 2019. So, fans who missed seeing him at the event this year shouldn’t worry too much—there’s always next year, and who knows? Maybe he’ll make a grand return to the Met steps.
