Get ready for a classic showdown between two Hollywood legends! Samuel L. Jackson and Pierce Brosnan are teaming up as enemies in the upcoming Western adventure The Unholy Trinity. The film is produced by indie companies Saban Films and Roadside Attractions and promises plenty of action and drama.
Directed by Richard Gray, The Unholy Trinity stars a strong supporting cast including David Arquette, Brandon Lessard, Veronica Ferres, Gianni Capaldi, Q’orianka Kilcher, Tim Daly, Ethan Peck, and Katrina Bowden. The story is set in Montana during the 1870s and follows a young man named Henry Broadway (played by Lessard), who returns to the town of Trinity to seek revenge on the man who framed his father for a crime.
According to the official synopsis, “Buried secrets of an 1870s Montana town spark violence when a young man returns to reclaim his legacy and is caught between a sheriff determined to maintain order and a mysterious stranger hell-bent on destroying it.”
Pierce Brosnan plays the town’s sheriff, while Samuel L. Jackson takes on the role of the mysterious villain, St. Christopher. In the trailer, Brosnan’s character gives Lessard’s Henry some advice: “Keep your ancestry between us. Not everyone who’s known is loved,” after learning Henry’s father’s identity. This tense moment quickly leads to a fierce shootout between Brosnan and Jackson’s characters in a shadowy alley.
Lessard’s character shows great bravery during the battle, which impresses Brosnan’s sheriff, who even invites him to “raid” alongside him. However, it looks like many of Jackson’s men fall at the hands of Lessard, sparking anger and setting the stage for an intense final confrontation. One character in the trailer warns, “People are riled up,” hinting at the explosive ending to come.
Besides directing, Richard Gray also co-produces the film with Carter Boehm, Kellie Lessard Brooks, Jeanne Allgood Gaisford, Michele Gray, Colin Floom, and Cameron Lessard. The script was written by Lee Zachariah.
In an earlier interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Brosnan shared how busy and happy he is with his career right now, saying, “I’ve got four movies in the can… I’m at a very joyful time to be able to move around the stage and to be able to have choices.”
The Unholy Trinity will hit theaters on June 13, so mark your calendars if you’re a fan of Westerns and thrilling rivalries!
