Victoria Goodwin, the wife of Aaron Goodwin, pleaded guilty to one count of felony in connection to a murder-for-hire conspiracy involving her husband. The plea, which was entered on Wednesday, comes after an investigation revealed that she allegedly plotted to have her husband killed by conspiring with Grant Amato, an inmate in a Florida prison.
According to Us Weekly, the plea agreement sets out a possible prison sentence of 2 to 10 years, with the potential for parole. However, there is no sentencing agreement or recommendation from prosecutors, and the judge will have the final say on her sentence. A formal plea hearing is scheduled for April 21.
The case began in early March when Victoria was arrested by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police. Court documents reveal that she had sent Amato personal information about Aaron Goodwin, including details about his filming location and schedule. She had also negotiated a monetary deal for the murder, including a $2,500 upfront payment of a total of $11,515. Investigators discovered text messages from Victoria in which she allegedly said that she wanted to end her marriage by murder rather than divorce, stating, “Am I a bad person? Because I chose to end his existence. Not divorce.”
Victoria and Aaron had been married for almost three years, but following the discovery of the plot, Aaron filed for divorce and sued Victoria for punitive damages over $10,000. The divorce filing stated that their “views, tastes, likes and dislikes” had become incompatible, and there was “no possibility of reconciliation.”
Victoria’s arrest and subsequent court appearances have drawn significant media attention, especially given the shocking nature of the case. She was seen in court on March 11 wearing a prison jumpsuit and in restraints.
