William Levy, the 44-year-old Cuban-American actor, was arrested on Monday night in Broward County on charges of public intoxication, disorderly conduct, and trespassing. After spending a night in jail, he was granted bail after posting a $500 bond. The arrest stems from an incident at a local restaurant, where Levy allegedly became involved in an altercation with an employee.

In his first public statement following the arrest, Levy denied the allegations, including the claim that he physically assaulted anyone. He told El Gordo y La Flaca that he had remained calm during the incident and pointed out that there were cameras that could disprove the claims of aggression. He also denied reports suggesting that he refused to pay his bill and addressed the trespassing charge by saying, “Well, they had to take me in for something.”

Levy seemed to downplay the situation, even joking about spending the night in jail, saying it was “normal” and mentioning he had met “some new people.” After being released, his brother-in-law picked him up from jail, and he returned home to his two children, Kailey and Christopher.

If convicted, Levy could face up to 60 days in jail for disorderly intoxication and an additional year if found guilty of criminal trespassing. This isn’t Levy’s first brush with legal trouble. In October 2023, police responded to a domestic dispute between him and his then-partner, Elizabeth Gutiérrez, though no action was taken. Levy and Gutiérrez ended their relationship in April 2024 after two decades together.

Levy, known for his roles in Spanish telenovelas and English-language films like Resident Evil: The Final Chapter and Addicted, previously appeared on Dancing with the Stars in 2012.
