Hailee Steinfeld has expressed her eagerness to continue her role as Kate Bishop in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), with fans speculating that she might reprise the role in Avengers: Doomsday. Steinfeld, who made her live-action MCU debut as the sharp-shooting protégé to Clint Barton (played by Jeremy Renner) in Hawkeye (2021), has received praise for her portrayal of Kate. In a recent interview with Backstage, she emphasized her excitement to further develop the character, acknowledging the unique opportunity to grow alongside her role within such a vast and dynamic universe.
Steinfeld’s enthusiasm is clear, as she spoke fondly of playing a character who has resonated so strongly with fans. “I’m excited about the idea of continuing to grow with a character like Kate, especially in something as huge as the Marvel Cinematic Universe,” she said. She referred to Kate as a “deeply lovable” character and mentioned how playing her gives her the chance to return to a “little home” in the MCU that becomes part of something much bigger.
Although Kate’s appearance has been limited since Hawkeye, she briefly appeared in the 2023 film The Marvels, where her presence in the post-credit scene hints at future adventures. In that scene, Ms. Marvel (played by Iman Vellani) sets out on a mission to recruit young superheroes, possibly signaling that Kate Bishop might be part of a new team.
