Ash Santos, who plays Nia on Netflix’s Pulse, has teased some exciting potential developments for her character and the ongoing dynamics with Tom in a possible Season 2. In an interview with Us Weekly, Santos shared her thoughts on the love triangle brewing between Nia, Tom, and Cass, hinting at the long-term potential of Nia and Tom’s chemistry.
Santos noted that the show’s tone was fresh and mature, reflecting a more realistic approach to relationships. She shared her personal perspective on love and relationships, saying, “As you get older, you realize most men are literally just [meh]. So you’re like, ‘If you like me, great. If you don’t like me, even better.'” She appreciated that Pulse avoided the typical rivalry between women over a man, choosing instead to focus on setting individual boundaries for Nia and Cass.
The actress also highlighted the growing tension between Nia and Cass, suggesting that by the end of Season 1, viewers would be rooting for Nia and Tom as their chemistry developed organically. Santos emphasized that there was no forced tension in the relationship between Nia and Tom, which made it feel more genuine. She expressed optimism about their potential long-term connection, saying, “If we get a second season… you can see them going the distance.”
The first season kept Nia largely in a hospital bed, which presented some unique challenges for Santos as an actress. She spoke about how playing a character in such a confined state required more focus on facial expressions and emotional depth rather than physical body language, calling it a defining moment in her growth as an actress.
Looking ahead, Santos hopes that Nia’s character development will continue to evolve, leaving fans eagerly anticipating a possible Pulse Season 2.
