Amy Schumer recently got candid about her experience with weight loss medications, sharing details about her journey on social media. The actress took to Instagram to talk about using Wegovy, revealing that she’s had a positive experience with the drug.

Schumer, best known for Life & Beth, first started taking the medication three years ago but initially struggled with its effects. However, after adjusting her approach and combining it with other treatments, she found a regimen that worked well for her.

In a video filmed from her car, Schumer opened up about the rough side effects she faced early on. She recalled feeling constantly sick and throwing up, making it difficult to continue. “I was just puking all the time; I couldn’t handle it,” she admitted, adding that she wasn’t sure if the formula had changed over time.

Despite the rocky start, Schumer shared that the medication has brought unexpected benefits beyond weight loss. “My perimenopause symptoms are gone, my hair is thicker, my skin looks better, and I have way more energy,” she said, even jokingly hinting that she’s feeling more confident in her personal life. “I want to ‘get down’ more, if you know what I mean.”

She also mentioned trying another medication, Mounjaro, and noted that both had worked well for her. However, she cautioned that these drugs can be expensive, as they are typically not covered by insurance unless prescribed for diabetes or severe obesity—conditions she acknowledged people assume she has.

While recognizing the financial and medical complexities of these treatments, Schumer emphasized that her own experience has been overwhelmingly positive. “I just wanted to be honest about it,” she shared.

Toward the end of her video, she gave a shoutout to Midi Health, the company that prescribed the medication for her. She liked their approach so much that she even decided to invest in the brand.
