On Sunday night, Danser was riding with a 59-year-old friend in the Kahala suburb when their car lost control and struck a parked vehicle. Honolulu authorities reported that speed was a factor in the collision but confirmed that no drugs or alcohol were involved. Both Danser and her friend were critically injured in the crash, and one of the occupants in the other car also sustained severe injuries. Danser passed away two days later, and her death has deeply affected those who knew her.

Danser appeared on Naked and Afraid in 2017 and also took part in the spin-off series, Naked and Afraid XL. The dive company shared, “Heavy hearts as we say goodbye to a good friend and great captain. Sarah brought such great energy to everyone she came in contact with. You will be greatly missed.”
